For his height, in the NBA, I would say no one was ever as agile as MJ, maybe besides Kobe. He probably wouldn't regularly juke out an NFL cornerback, but I'm saying that he's got the feet to make sharp turns and abrupt start and stops. GOAT-level agility (especially for his size), body control and quickness and speed on top of that bounce. His body control, balance and jumping ability is also GOAT-worthy. On top of that, he was bigger than Jordan (over 6'6 without the shoes). He was not as agile as D Rose and certainly wouldn't regularly juke out an NFL cornerback.ħ0sFan wrote:We don'thave Julius numbers, but he was arguably faster than MJ and his vertical is also GOAT-esque. Michael Jordan is a freak athlete but to be frank you're greatly romanticizing him comparing him to NFL cornerbacks and Derrick Rose. this combo than anyone else in history too). MJ seems to have better agility and adaptability than Dr. J though his speed, aerial body control and maximum bounce are probably similar. Like MJ looks like a guy that could juke out a cornerback as he runs a sweep. Michael Jordan averaged 27.9 points, 5.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 8 games versus Julius Erving in his career. J seemed to move more like a wing and I don't remember him moving as well side to side and jumping in as many ways (off two feet drifting to the side, from a stand still, etc.). Michael Jordan averaged 27.9 points, 5.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 8 games versus Julius Erving in his career. J was very fast and could jump very high, but to be 6'5" and have the agility of a 6'1" point guard is insane. I think MJ moved like 2011 Derrick Rose, east-to-west, north to south, vertically. I don't compare Jordan to average or even good athlete, I compare him to GOAT athlete. We don'thave Julius numbers, but he was arguably faster than MJ and his vertical is also GOAT-esque. MJ is the GOAT athlete in the NBA, along with Lebron. Even now, no one is that agile, explosive and that fast and that elite with refined athletic traits like coordination, body control and balance, the ability to jump equally well no matter the circumstances, etc. MJ was like a 6'5" running back that could run a legit 4.4 40 and had a 45-inch vertical. So, while we wait for the season to start and Kobe to get over his Achilles injury, these small tidbits are what we’ll have to use to get us through the summer.Pelly24 wrote:I think it's MJ by a clear margin. I guess it’s not very surprising considering Kobe is always looking for an edge, both on and off the court. The thing I find most interesting is that Bryant immediately recognized this as a potential problem in his career, and took the necessary steps to counteract this. Kobe debate, it hasn’t been discussed too often. Obviously it’s something scouts look into when looking at potential prospects (Kawhi Leonard, anybody?), but in the Jordan v. This is one element we don’t generally think of when we’re examining basketball players. Michael Jordan averaged 27.9 points, 5.3 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 8 games versus Julius Erving in his career. I had to work to get that strength to be able to do it.” They obviously had the natural capabilities to do it. I have big hands, but (Jordan and Erving) can literally pick up the ball like an orange, so I’ve had to do things to strengthen my hands, strengthen my forearms to make sure I have that grip to be able to do it. J (Julius Erving) as well and some of these other players. “Michael was blessed with massive hands and Dr.
